I missed the lunch hour on a Sunday and was famished. After inquiring at several spots looking for a table I asked a server where he would go if he were hungry. He gave me directions to this place. The food drink and service were of course all wonderful, but what I appreciated the most was the way the tables were facing this charming little square and it was a highlight of my time in Venice to sit and eat and sip a spritz while people watching there. A lovely respite.

The cicchetti were super good, my husband literally fell in love with the baccalà mantecato. Good wine selection and good pastas, especially the gnocchi with duck ragù. The frittura was fresh, very well executed and delicious, it didn't even need any seasoning. The service was a bit slow and forgetful, could have been more attentive, but the restaurant is super cute and we had a wonderful time. The prices were also very reasonable considering that it's on a main street and super close to Piazza San Marco Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed my dinner here. I had the swordfish pasta and a Neopolitana dessert which was delicious. House wine was also really good and overall the experience exceeded my expectations. Service was very friendly and helpful (they gave good recommendations). Would definitely recommend!

Charming little square, tucked away between a few small alleys. We decided tograb a bite and were not disappointed!Food is prepared well, presented nicely and tasty (Lamb ribs could have been a bit warmer, but still a solid 4/5).Service is excellent: polite, invisible, attentive and very well-spoken in their non-native language. Hence: 4,5/5 stars, rounded up. Warmly recommended

Unplanned visit to charming bistro tucked away from high st. Good menu of Venice food and support from service team with choice of wine plus digestive match. Lovely Grazie mille

A wonderful little place to enjoy a belini and cicchetti! The meatballs, both tuna and meat were yummy. The potato one was excellent. Service was surprisingly good. A lovely place.

Wandered by this spot a little after 12 noon, stopped for a plate of delicious cicchetti and a couple of Select spritzes. Lovely staff, warm welcome… This evening, after discovering that the restaurant at which we’d confirmed a reservation was locked up tight, with no message informing us that they wouldn’t be open, we telephoned Why & Not and were warmly welcomed again half an hour later. The fish soup was absolutely stunning, rich and subtle in flavours, and the pasta with swordfish as perfectly prepared. The owner’s suggestion for a wine pairing was spot on. A great place for food, drink, and,people-watching. Not to be missed!

Food was fantastic! Chicetti had quite some effort put into i, with really inspiring polenta based chichetti unlike some other restaurants which were more like cold crostini’s pre prepared. And almost always bread based. The polenta base was super clever and far lighter on calories and how you felt for rest of night. The server knew the menu inside out, understood the wine they were serving, had an opinion that he could explain on which main order would make more sense. They even brought out complimentary limoncello at the end- very kind indeed.Overall absolutely loved it and would recommend anyone to try their night out in Venice here for a meal. Enjoy!
